Yesterday I was in such a cleaning mood. You know it is when you just feel like you have to clean everything? I think part of it was because I want everything to be nice for when my mom comes, Nov.29! I was also trying to de-clutter and organize. It just makes the house look better and there are less things for Evelynn to get into. I couldn't even stop when it was bed time, I was still finding things to do when Dave was asleep. It felt really good to wake up to a clean house this morning. Plus I woke up early which was nice because I was able to read Scriptures before Evelynn woke up.

My newest interest lately has been "going green". I don't know what started it but one day I just became incredibly interested in it. I think we are doing a pretty good job so far. We use energy saving light bulbs, we recycle and reuse things, we unplug applicances when not using them, wash clothes in cold water and next spring we are going to start a garden which will include making a compost pile. It is amazing how many things are so easy to do but save you so much. For example, did you know that 90% of the enery used by a washing machine is just to warm up the water? Cold water does just as good of a job and you can even buy certain laundry soaps that are made for cold water. It feels so good to know that we are saving money and helping our planet. Oh and when we do the garden we are going to try and plant some trees in the yard. So now I am challenging everyone one to take one of these ideas or something else and put it to use in your own home. They are all wonderful things to do!
