Mono update

This is my first time ever dealing with mono and I never realized how bad it is. The worst part for Dave is his sore throat. It just kept getting worse and so the other day the doctor gave him some medicine to help the swelling go down. Well that worked the first day and then nothing. He hasn't been able to sleep hardly at all because of the pain. So last night he didn't sleep at all and I had no idea because I was zonked out. This morning he tells me we need to go back to the doctor because his throat is so bad he cannot hardly swallow. So we get there and the doctor says we just need to do more meds and he can give Dave some pain meds. Then he looks at him some more and realizes that Dave is really dehyrated. He says we need to give him an IV. At first he was talking about going to the hospital but then decided he could do it at the office. That was a big relief because hospitals are freaky and it would have taken forever. I didn't realize how little Dave had been drinking this week, so I feel so bad for not taking care of him better. He has lost 6 lbs since monday which the doctor did not like. So now we are home and Dave is feeling a little better. I have to make sure he does a lot better with the liquids otherwise the doctor might make us go to the hospital for more IV's! Thankfully a wonderful friend is bringing dinner. I just started crying when she called and told me she was bringing it, it was exactly what I needed and have been praying for. The Lord really hears me and knows how to help! I have just been feeling very overwhelmed with everyone being sick and being pregnant. I am just so tired which I know is normal for being pregnant but it really doesn't help when there is a bunch of other stuff going on. I think I just have been pushing myself too hard which let to a little scare yesterday but that is a whole different story. Anyways, just needed to get that all out, sorry if it was boring and long.

I'm so sorry Lindsey. I hope with more fluids, the medicine, and some rest he'll be feeling better soon. Call me if you need anything!

Not boring, or long, but totally SCARY! Mono is super bad, and so hard on adults! When David (my little boy) had it, it totally kicked his rear! Poor Dave. Do you need gatorade, or clear soda's? Just pump him full of fluid, that will help flush him, and just expect him to sleep all the time, which is exactly what you want to do too! Bring your baby over anytime you need to take a nap! i will watch her for you!! I am not even joking!!!!!
