He's gone

Well Dave left Sunday for his basic training for 7 months. I knew for a long time that this was coming but it didn't make saying goodbye any easier. I had to make his parents drive him up to Salt Lake because I knew I wouldn't make it home very well with all of my crying. As soon as he walked out the door I broke down and that night was pretty much filled with a lot of crying. Thankfully I felt a lot better in the morning after getting it out but I have found if I don't keep myself really busy it comes back. I know it will get better over time, it is just so fresh right now.

The kids have noticed that he isn't here but don't really get that it will be a really long time till he comes home. Evelynn remembers that he is gone and says he is at soldier school and she wants to go too. Today she insisted that he is at elephant school actually.

The nights are the hardest so far because the house is so quiet, so if anyone wants to come over then or in the day please call me or leave a comment, I could use the company.

Lindsey, you are so brave! It takes a lot of strength just to be willing to do what you're doing, let alone actually doing it! I admire you :)

Wow Lindsey, I couldn't do what you're doing! I know I'm not close enough for an in-person visit, but if you ever need to talk... I'm an email away!

Ok, first off, I love your comments blinky and totally copied you and put it on my blog. :)

I am totally amazed by your guys decision to do this. There is no way I could do it for 7 months! You can do it, I know you can. You know you can call me anytime and I will be over there in a matter of minutes. Maybe we should set up a "girls night" each month where some of the LL girls get together at your house for a good chat. And remember, I'm totally open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so if you want to do a playdate, or if you want to come drop the kiddos off so you can have some time to yourself, just call!

Hang in there... hopefully it will go by fast! Do you get to talk on the phone/email at all? Good luck, I could never go 7 months!

If I were there in Utah I would come and visit you and get to know you better. Stay strong and I am glad that you have your little ones to keep you busy. You are a good mom!

You are so strong to be able to do this, Lindsey. You and your family are in my prayers.
