A Few of my Favorite Things
For some reason I thought it would be fun to do a post about some random things that I love. So for the amazing people who read my blog and don't comment (you know who you are!), here is a fun post for you!
My new reading chair given to me by a friend. This is the most comfortable chair in the world. It reclines all the way back and I could just stay in it all day and read. The kids also think it is so cool because it is just like poppa's chair and they pretend to take naps in it like he does!
Masonry jars! They have become my new favorite decorating item. I have tons from all my jam making so that is very nice. I love to put candles in them, little stalks of wheat and also cut greenery for Christmas. So easy and versatile.
This is my project board. Anytime I find something online that I want to make I put it up here. Notice how there are a lot of things for boys and not so much for girls? Yea that is because all the stuff I want to make is too "girlie" for my daughter. So I have to try and find something that she might let me dress her up in and that is hard. I got some gift cards for Christmas to my favorite craft stores so now I just have to pick which things I want to make the most, so hard!!!
My computer. Yes I know how lame that sounds. But as a stay at home mom, especially in the winter, it is really hard to get out and see people. This is my contact to the outside world. No I am not sitting on here all day! It is also my resource for all my craft blogs which is a new addiction.
This is my new vinyl lettering I got off Amazon. Yes they totally sell it! You cannot customize anything, you just pick from what they have but they have great deals! I just fell in love with this phrase because it really captures what I learned about myself when Dave was gone. I put it up in my room so I can see it when I lay in bed. Love it!
OK you might be laughing at these but they are some of lifes little pleasures! The first is my pomegranate body wash. I buy the knock off brand of course but it smells delicious. The second is my rosemary mint shampoo and conditioner. IT IS HEAVEN IN A BOTTLE. Sometimes I want to wash my hair over and over just to smell it! Trust me, get a nice hot shower with no kids (if possible) combine these two things and you will just DIE!
Now on to my new sleep mask. As I have been told, it makes me look very silly but I don't care! I am one of those people that needs complete darkness to sleep and this just makes it so much better! I got it as a free sample online and it is so fun!
I call this my Rachael Ray scooper because it is from her show. You use it after you have cut up a bunch of veggies or whatever and then you scoop them all up to put in the pan. Such a big help! I got it for Christmas a few years ago and I love using it.
My new favorite snack now. These are little sandwhich rounds with mashed avocado and salt and pepper. So good! I have been eating them mostly for breakfast but a snack sometimes too. Unfortunately I have eaten all my avocados I brought back from California and I refuse to pay so much for them up here. (My mom works at an avocado packing plant so she gets them for dirt cheap!)
Lastly, the Boon spoon. My older sister introduced this to me and I fell in love at first sight! I don't know how I had two kids without it. You put the baby food in the spoon and then just squirt a little into the spoon at a time. So much less mess!! I have now found that Walmart sells a knock off brand but I am not sure how well it works. If you have a baby you HAVE to try this!!!!

I knew we were friends for a reason, we have so much in common! I love that wall vinyl and it totally does apply to you, you are strong, brave and super smart. I think I may have to copy that vinyl for my place. :) I love avocados on bread like that too! And I love your board for projects, though, where is the "things to make for my best friend Mary" category? Hehe. :) I sure wish you could have taught me some of your crafting skills before I moved.
I use the same shampoo! And I have to agree it is heaven in a bottle!
It was fun reading about your favorites! I hadn't seen in your blog in a while, looks like life is going good. :)
I'm so glad you like my, I mean, your chair! We loved it too. I also love scrapers and masonry jars. :)
