Santa Claus

Today we got Evelynn all dressed up to see Santa at the mall and get pictures done at JcPenny. We got there and there wasn't a line which was great but then I noticed that you have to buy a full picture package to get to sit on his lap! They ranged from $26-$14 and didn't come with very many pictures. You couldn't even sit on his lap without buying one. I was so mad! Back when I was young you could totally sit on his lap without buying anything. They would take one picture but you didn't have to buy it. My mom said they would even let her take her own picture. What has happened with Santa now a days? So we decided not to do it because we were on our way to do actual pictures. So my question is, does anyone know of a place besides University Mall that has Santa? and do they charge for pictures? I really want to do this since it is Evelynn's first picture but not for that kinda money.

Hi Lindsey--this is Lindsey--hehehe. I got your blog from Hannah, I hope you don't mind. I think you're adorable. I just wanted to tell you that last year they had Santa come to the ward party and they took pictures. I'm not sure if they'll do it again this year...but just maybe! If I find somewhere else, I'll let you know!

Lindsey, that's ridiculous! I would have been so annoyed. But Lindsey is right, they will in fact have a Santa there at the ward party. Apparently it's going to be this guy from Lehi who dresses up as Santa professionally. But anyway, wait a couple weeks till the party and you can definitely get her pic with Santa for free then. :-)

I totally understand your frustration. What happened to things being free. Everything has to cost money anymore. It drives me crazy. But, like everyone says just wait for the ward party. Or like I told you my dad dresses up and I know he would come to your house.

We had the same experience at South Towne Mall. You had to buy a package. Just like Charlie Brown says, Christmas is too commercial these days!
